Fried Cinnamon Swirl Doughnuts
1 1/2 Cup Flour |
1 Cup Milk |
1/4 Cup Butter |
1 Egg |
1 Pkg Yeast |
1/4 Cup Sugar |
1 1/4 Tsp Salt |

Combine together 1 1/2 cup of flour and one package of yeast. Heat
together, 1 cup of milk, 1/4 cup sugar, 1/4 cup butter and 1 1/4
teaspoon of salt till warm. Stir into flour mixture with one egg. Beat
at low speed with mixer 1/2 minute, scraping bowl constantly. Beat 3
minutes at high speed, stir in 2 1/2 to 3 cups of flour to make a
moderately stiff dough. Knead 5 to 8 minutes. Shape into ball. Place in
greased bowl. Cover let rise 1 to 1/1 1/2 hours. Punch down, let rest 10
minutes, roll out on floured surface to 15 by 12 inches. Combine 2
tablespoons of sugar and 1 teaspoon of cinnamon. Sprinkle over dough.
Roll up long side, cut into 1/2 inch slices. Place on lightly floured
baking sheet. Cover and let rise 40 minutes. Fry in deep hot oil at 360
degrees for 1 1/4 to 1 1/2 minutes per side. Drain, combine 1 cup
powdered sugar, 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon and 4 tablespoons of milk. Brush
over rolls. Makes about 2 1/2 dozen.
